The weather is always a big concern if you live in the North make sure you don’t have your wedding during the winter, if you do ensure that you have enough heaters or are in a heated indoor space to make your guest comfortable. Summer or spring would be the optimal choice. However, summer weddings have big concerns with heat. If you have your wedding during the summer, you would need to make the choice of having an indoor or an outdoor wedding. An outdoor wedding would be terrible, unless you decide to have the wedding in the North or in a Tropical area, but another thing to contemplate is parking.
Parking will be a huge concern when you or your guest wear heels and need to walk in order to get to the venue. Always make sure it’s near by and it’s free or of low cost.
You have to treat your guest with hospitality, make them feel comfortable and welcomed instead of ignoring them. If you’re busy just smile at them or hug them when you get chance. Make sure to go on each table to meet everyone and notify your family members know to make your guests feel welcomed, unhappy guest will make the best time in your life to worst experience of your life.
Good entertainment is the charm of your wedding if you don’t have good a DJ or live entertainment your guest will be bored. When you see your guests looking over other places rather than talking or dancing then they are bored. Ensure a good playlist/mood music to keep your guests entertained and happy along with the food and drinks.
You have to serve good food at your wedding. It doesn’t matter if you are serving only a three course meal or five course meal, Buffet or plated. Guests do not care as long as it’s enough and it tastes good they will enjoy it. Drinks will keep your guest happy. Having soft drinks or mocktails for non-alcoholics/minors. For those who drink alcohol, it is a must for wine and beer, however if you can’t afford to have expensive liquor a cash bar is a party foul. Your guests will not enjoy the party if they have to buy their alcohol, not to mention if the flow and timing of the event.
You have to make sure that your event stays on time, that is the purpose of a coordinator or point person. That person can keep everything running on time. A 5 to 10 minute delay is not bad. Although, if the time keeps running behind guest will not enjoy that and it will lead you to be stressed and frustrated. Keeping your event flowing and in a timely manner is one of the most important parts of your big day.
